Norfolk Broads Bell Target Club (NBBTC) held its inaugural meeting on the 2nd. of July 2019. It was held in Ludham village hall from 7 til 9 p.m.
In essence, bell target shooting involves shooting a low powered air rifle at a steel target, the target has a hole in the middle which is 3\8" in (10mm) diameter, the shot is taken at a distance of 6 yards (5.5 metres). Behind the hole is a bell which rings satisfyingly when hit. Sounds easy, doesn't it? All shooting is done standing with open or non magnified sights.
Anyone can participate providing you are able to hold a full sized target rifle. This is a sport for anyone. Once established we will find a way to assist anyone with issues to participate. Initially we will only allow over 16s to participate, but if there is interest from younger shooters we will do our best to make it happen.
Initially we will shoot two distinct disciplines, vintage and non vintage rifles.
To begin with you will not need any equipment, we have some loan rifles and pellets will be included in the fee on the night. Half time refreshments will also be included in the fee.
If you would like to bring your own rifle, this is fine but it will be chronographed on the night to ensure it is running below 6 foot pounds. Most off the shelf air rifles will be running at higher power levels than this.
If you are interested in participating, please get in touch.
The cost for the first session will be £5 per shooter.
If you are a spring chicken, please bring photo id so that we can verify your age.
